The 7 Best Farmers’ Markets to Get Fresh Produce in Jersey City

Support local farms and enjoy the most fresh and nutritious produce in Jersey City

Jersey City is incredibly excited to have been able to welcome back their farmers markets during these uncertain times. Shopping outside can be a refreshing change with fresh air circulating and a shorter supply chain. Along with being a great alternative, there are many benefits of having access to food that comes directly from local farmers. Did you know that fruits and vegetables start to lose their nutritional value just 24 hours after their harvest? When you buy from a traditional supermarket, your produce has been picked, packaged, and then shipped — a process that can take weeks. However, when you shop from a local market, the majority of the produce has been harvested that day which means they peak in nutritional value!

We’re excited to list the ongoing farmer’s markets in Jersey City amid National Farmers Market Week, which spans from August 2nd-8th.  Whether you’re looking for organic, seasonal produce, or cute trinkets, you can find it all. Read on for the full list of the city’s farmers markets, and their services throughout the novel coronavirus pandemic, listed alphabetically.
