Get Past Plastic Law

“There is no denying we have a plastic problem and we can’t recycle our way out of it.” – says Matt Trump, Vice Chair of Greener JC

According to the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, New Jersey has a recycling rate of only about 40%. We all can see how single use plastic litters our streets and contaminates our waterways. The State of New Jersey has already taken action to limit plastics and beginning May 4, 2022, single-use carryout bags and polystyrene foam food service products will be banned in New Jersey stores and food service businesses. The Greening Your Business Grant can help Jersey City businesses prepare for the existing and new regulations in the Get Past Plastic Law

“This is a win-win for Jersey City businesses! They have the opportunity to use this funding to make business improvements and be better prepared for the upcoming legislation. – says Michael Hawco, Greener JC Board Member
