EJC’s New Instagram Relaunch
EverythingJerseyCity.com is proud to announce our upcoming Instagram relaunch of our new account – @everythingjerseycitydotcom – where you’ll have exclusive access to content that celebrates all that Jersey City has to offer!
In May, as many of you have seen, our Instagram page was hacked and changed to completely wipe @everythingjerseycity from the platform, leaving us with no way to reach our 8,000+ followers or restore our account. After countless efforts to contact Instagram and Meta with no luck, we’ve made the difficult decision to start over with a fresh page in order to keep the wheels of EJC moving and not let hackers dampen our community spirit.
EJC was born out of a genuine love and passion for Jersey City by our founders and lifelong residents, Sam and Francine Mikhail. Their dream was to create a website that promoted the good in Jersey City’s community, people, and businesses they loved who didn’t get as much attention as they deserved. In September 2019, they finally made the dream a reality with the launch of EJC, featuring articles, guides, and resources for all aspects of life and wards in Jersey City, from dining to raising families to sharing inspiring stories of our neighbors and more.
In just under four years, with over 245 articles and countless collaborations, we’ve:
- covered extraordinary young people, like Dylan Chidick who was accepted into 18 colleges, wunderkind jazz singer Lola Castellano, and the Peacocks’ epic March Madness Cinderella story;
- kept the community informed with extensive COVID coverage of new businesses opening, cleaning tips, and coping with mental health during quarantine;
- interviewed city government officials like Councilman Frank “Educational” Gilmore, Councilman Yousef J. Saleh, and Mayor Fulop;
- spotlighted the incredible diversity of our community with amazing women, BIPOC, AAPI, and more;
- highlighted amazing places to eat, drink, and satisfy your sweet tooth around town.
- and so much more.
We also have an up-to-date calendar of events and a database of businesses on our website to make it easy for you to find your next favorite date night spot or family-friendly activity in your neighborhood. Make sure to also subscribe to our Good News JC newsletter by emailing editor@everythingjerseycity.com so you never miss a thing.
Our mission is to never stop talking about the good things happening and the people who are doing extraordinary things, while educating on the history of our incredible city too. We plan to keep doing so despite this momentary setback with even more passion and boots on the ground than before.
If you’re a writer, photographer, artist, or someone who’s just passionate about Jersey City, come join our team! We’d love to collaborate with more businesses and people making an impact on our city, so please reach out through our new page @everythingjerseycitydotcom on Instagram or get in touch with us by email at editor@everythingjerseycity.com to see how we can best work to uplift our city together.
Of course, the best way you can support us and get the word out about the new and improved @everythingjerseycitydotcom Instagram page is to interact by liking, commenting, and sharing posts with your friends and family. Make sure to hit that follow button and stay tuned for even more good news, JC!
