You’ll want to start your day off with one of these favorites as you’re gearing up for your fall festivities. Belle Ame Café – 76 Cottage St. (Journal Square)
A new café to the Journal Square area, Belle Ame’s fall drink is their Maple Pecan Latte. It is owner Sal’s favorite, and he can’t wait for you to stop by and try it. The house-made drink is made with homemade pecan butter and local maple syrup. So get ready to indulge in this latte with one of their pressed sandwiches!

Busy Bee Organics – 451 Palisade Ave & 175 2nd St.

Everyone knows Busy Bee Organics for their Gluten-Free baked goods and meals. For owner Michelle, the Pumpkin Patch Latte is by far her favorite fall drink. She prefers it hot, but you can also get it iced. She recommends pairing it with chocolate chip buffins which are muffins that are high in protein, fiber, & vitamins, low in sugar and completely grain-free! You also won’t want to miss out on their famous pumpkin bread, which makes the perfect morning.
Café Esme – 485 Marin Blvd. (Downtown)
The Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin Spice Chai are Daniela’s favorite drinks of all seasons but especially in the fall. “The mesmerizing flavors and the warm wind of fall takes me back to my childhood’s little European mountain town of Sinaia! The taste of pumpkin in the fall blends in life, beauty, memories – it’s Sinaia and Jersey City. It’s the past, the present and the future,” shared Daniela. She enjoys sitting down at the terrace of her café with her three kids enjoying the delicious fall drinks at Café Esme while they talk about leaves falling from the trees, friendships, and family. While you’re there, don’t forget to grab an apple cider donut which Daniela recommends goes best with the pumpkin spice latte!

Café Lafayette – 74 Maple St. (Bergen-Lafayette)
New to the Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood, Café Lafayette offers diverse breakfast and lunch options. Patrick’s favorite fall drink from their menu is the warm Apple Cider, as apples are his favorite fruits. “A very simple glass of warm apple cider garnished with a cinnamon stick inside or cinnamon sprinkled on top is so satisfying,” shared Patrick. He looks forward to seeing all the Jersey City brownstones decked out in Halloween decorations as he sips on his favorite fall drink.
Café Peanut – 586 Newark Ave. (Journal Square)
For owners, Dee and Ili fall is a magical place in Jersey City. “With its tree-lined streets, historic brownstones and artisan cafes on almost every corner, it provides a home to many cultures and ethnic groups. At Cafe Peanut, fall is our favorite time of the year with its changing colors and welcoming weather,” shared Dee. Their signature drinks during fall are their Pumpkin Latte and Fireball Latte. If you’re looking to sit down with a book and get cozy on their sofa, the sweet notes of pumpkin and cinnamon will be very comforting. But if you’re looking to enjoy a walk in the park to admire the foliage, they recommend the fireball with signature Mexican pepper, which will provide you with the warmth along with a little bit of kick to start your day. They recommend pairing both drinks with their house-made croissants, cheese pockets, and their signature apricot danishes!
Choc O Pain – 530 Jersey Ave. and 330 Palisade Ave. (Heights & Downtown)
Store owner Clemence’s favorite fall drink is their Chai Oat Milk Latte. “A blend of spices with black tea, we add steamed (oat) milk over it. It’s slightly sweetened, warm because of the spices, just the perfect fall drink,” described Clemence. She recommends pairing it with their Apple Petit Kouign, which will start on October 4th. You won’t want to miss out on this fantastic duo!
Froth on Franklin – 85 Franklin St. (The Heights)
For the owner, Al fall in Jersey City is his favorite time of the year. He recommends trying their delicious cup of Pumpkin Spice Latte while enjoying the city life. Don’t forget to pair the latte with one of their famous apple cider donuts! Froth on Franklin also has vegan/gluten-free treats available to pair with non-dairy milk alternatives. A sweet treat for everyone!
Gold Roast Cafe – 434 Central Ave.

This Australian-inspired café in Jersey City Heights is a must-try. Owner Anabelle’s favorite fall drink is their Spiced Maple Cinnamon Latte. She recommends pairing it with their savory ham and cheese croissant or a brekky sandwich. Their famous brekky sandwich is a croissant filled with melted gouda, smashed avocado, maple bacon & their secret spiced egg. Just the perfect quick breakfast to start your day off. You can enjoy sipping on their latte as you watch the leaves fall from their outdoor patio seating. And if you’re ever near Asbury Park, you can visit Offshore Coffee Roasters as they are all family.

Lil’ Dove Café – 589 Palisade Ave.

While you’re sipping on coffee, the display of locally sourced products at this café will grab your attention. For store manager Georgia, her favorite fall drink is their Spiced Cider Latte which is available hot or iced. She prefers to hang onto iced drinks as long as possible while enjoying the outdoor seating at the cafe. The latte is made with espresso, house-made cider syrup and spice mix completed with milk of your choice. “This drink offers a subtle, sweet, and natural spiced apple taste without being too overpowering or sugary. A perfect fall treat” shared Georgia. This drink pairs nicely with an almond croissant or scone, which is from Balthazar Bakery. And if you’re looking to stroll through the park, Washington Park is only a block away!

Maggie’s Farm Espresso – 88 Morgan St. (Downtown)
Owner Sam thinks fall is the best coffee drinking weather, and we certainly agree with him! If you ever visited Maggie Farm Espresso’s located downtown Jersey City the bright yellow mugs are hard to forget. Sam’s favorite fall drink is their homemade Spiced Autumn Latte, and he recommends having it with their homemade pumpkin bread. Yum! Both are made scratch-in-house by their barista and baker, respectively. “I love these two items because they are wholesome, made with care from scratch, have nothing artificial in them and perfect on a crisp fall morning,” shared Sam.
Mod Cup Coffee – 479 Palisade Ave. (The Heights)
Fall desserts inspire mod Cup’s fall menu. That being, the owner, Christopher’s favorite fall drink is their Dark Chocolate & Pecan Latte with a pie-crusted rim. “We mix our espresso (which is thick and rich on its own) with a dark chocolate base and a simple pecan syrup. For the rim, the option of dark chocolate or white chocolate is presented, which we then line with a blended pie crust as an added texture and taste for the drink,” explained Chris. His favorite part of fall is switching from mostly iced drinks to cool down to be able to have a hot latte or pour-over and taking in the leaves changing at Riverview-Fisk Park on a crisp day. He recommends pairing their cinnamon roll with this drink. He feels that the cinnamon offers a nice contrast to the drink!
O Kafe – 230 Pavonia Ave. (Downtown)
Located in the Hamilton Park Neighborhood, O Kafe is the perfect stop to make to grab their signature Strawberry Cream Latte. While you’re there, enjoy a stroll through Hamilton Park to admire the foliage. Owner Jung Oh thinks O Kafe’s Strawberry Cream Latte paired with an almond croissant is the perfect duo. “We think it’s perfect for fall. The warm colors of the Strawberry Cream Latte mixed with the neutral colors of the croissant prepare you for the fall weather at the end of a hot summer. The dried strawberry chips sprinkled on top of the drink and the crispy almond on the croissant is the perfect ingredients for a mixed balanced flavor every time. If you’re a real fan of almond, then perhaps having the latte made with an almond milk base will help to blend the flavors better with the almond croissant,” shared Jung Oh.
The Cottage – 136 Monticello Ave. (Bergen-Lafayette)
Heather’s favorite fall drink is their homemade hot chocolate, made with Ronny Brook cream line milk and homemade marshmallows. She says it goes terrific with their fresh croissants that are baked fresh every morning. Heather enjoys being able to bring the country to Jersey City. “I grew up in the suburbs, and that is the one thing I miss. I love that I have a space to bring immersive experiences to the local community here,” shared Heather.
Treehouse Coffee Shop – 434A West Side Ave. (West Side)
Located in the West Side Neighborhood of Jersey City, this café offers specialty espresso drinks and several sweet treats. Frank and Diana’s favorite fall drink is their Pumpkin Spice Latte with organic pumpkin sugar cane syrup. They also offer a fall iced drink known as the Pumpkin Pie Redeye, which consists of espresso, cold brew pumpkin horchata syrup, and your choice of milk. And don’t forget to pair your drink with an apple cider caramel donut!
