Cangiano’s – 615 Pavonia Street + 316 15th Street
A popular breakfast and lunch spot in the Hamilton Park area of Jersey City is expanding to two new locations. It will offer a variety of fresh breads, bagels, sandwiches, cold cuts, pastries, coffee, and curated cheeses from around the world—all within its cozy shop.
A smaller version of Cangiano’s will be located at 615 Pavonia Street inside the Journal Squared development. This location will feature a hot bar, enhancing the food options available in the neighborhood. The other new outpost of Cangiano’s will open at 316 15th Street within the Hudson House complex.

Cheeky’s Sandwiches – 89 Monitor St.
A popular NYC sandwich shop, Cheeky Sandwiches, will open in the lovely Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood. It will offer New Orleans-inspired sandwiches, including short rib and fried chicken. The opening date has yet to be determined.
Maxwell Alley – 12 Coles St.
In March 2025, Jersey City will welcome a new restaurant perfect for date nights! The restaurant is named after the block-long alley it occupies, which was named after one of Jersey City’s first industrial businesses. Millburn Deli – 101 Hudson Street
One of the Garden State’s more popular delis will add two locations to its growing empire in 2025. Millburn Deli recently announced in an Instagram post that it will expand to Jersey City. The new location is slated to open at 101 Hudson Street inside the Harborside complex. Millburn Deli is known for its famous Sloppy Joe’s and unique sandwiches. Highlights on the menu include an Urban Cowboy sandwich with brown sugar-bined pastrami, Swiss cheese, sweet Cole slaw, and chipotle honey mustard.

Panaderya Salvaje – 9 Erie St.
Panaderya Salvaje is a Filipino-inspired bakery that will be opening at 9 Erie Street in Downtown Jersey City. Founded by self-taught baker Nicu Dalman, who hails from the southern Philippines, the bakery initially began with successful pop-ups across New Jersey. Now, Jersey City residents can savor these delicious sweets year-round. Some of the bakery’s offerings include Tabliya, a Filipino chocolate made from pure roasted cacao beans ground into a thick paste and molded into pucks, as well as empanadas and unique pies.
