The Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal holds great significance to many immigrants. When people were immigrating to the U.S. through Ellis Island during the 19th century, this central railroad was their first experience on U.S. soil. It has shut down, but is not a part of the Liberty State Park serving as a historic site.
