The Black Entrepreneur & Friends, in partnership with The City Of Jersey City, are proud to present the first Black Businesses Matter Street Festival on Saturday, July 11, 2020 (RAIN OR SHINE) from 12 PM- 7 PM (EST) at The Mary McLeod Bethune Center located 140 Martin Luther King Drive (Between Dwight St. & Woodlawn Ave), Jersey City, NJ 07305.
As COVID-19 pandemic and the current state of civil unrest following the murders of Ahmaud Arberry, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd, have made a global impact on the Black and Brown communities, the Black Businesses Matter Street Festival seeks to empower black businesses and creatives through a unique opportunity to expand visibility.
The free outdoor festival will feature local and international vendors who will transform the streets surrounding Jersey City’s Mary McLeod Bethune Center into a communal marketplace featuring food, fashion, crafts and more. In addition, the Black Businesses Matter Street Festival will spotlight Voter Registration, Census 2020, and provide a platform for social justice organizations. Free COVID-19 Testing will also be available inside of the Mary McLeod Bethune Center throughout the duration of the event.
The family-friendly celebration will feature entertainment from Jersey City fan favorites such as: Suzy Q, Daria Jones, and more.
In compliance with the State of New Jersey social distancing guidelines, all participants are strongly encouraged to wear face masks. Attendees will also be able to access hand sanitizer stations and the facility will allow guests to use the facility for bathrooms.
