Puerto Rican

Puerto Rican cuisine is highly influenced by Spanish, Taino, African, and American seasonings and ingredients such as coriander, papaya, plantains, and more. This cuisine has a variety of main and side dishes, but the most traditional dish is called asopao. It is a gumbo made with chicken or shellfish, and although many of the traditional dishes are very common to everyone within the culture, they all have their own unique twist to them from family to family.
