Ìīíïîinches is the lengthening of self that creation demands.
It is the deep stretch of witnessing.
It is black pride.
It is the labor it takes to measure life poetically.
It is translation and the space that it leaves behind.
It is the width of queerness.
It is a place that holds precious things, viewer included.
It is outside becoming inside and inside knowing where and how to be.
In her second solo show ìīíïîinches, process-and-materials based artist and performer Myssi Robinson builds immersive spaces to enshrine maximalist mixed-media work. Frames are softened, lengthened, and available to hold those who enter. Time, movement, and obsession with materiality invite wonder. Difference is a distance. Let us measure it poetically.
